Grammy Award winner Temilade Openiyi, better known by his stage name Tems, has confirmed to the public that he is a huge fan of Tyla and Asake in a recent statement.
Tems, the “Try Me” singer, was asked to name her current favorite African artists during an interview that was captured on camera and made public online.
In response, Tems stated that South African singer Tyla and Nigerian singer Asake are currently her favorite African artists.
After rapper Odumodublvck raised some eyebrows by leaving out Wizkid and naming his top 5 Nigerian artists based on their recent activity, this video appeared online a few hours later.
It is evident that Asake has achieved success as an established artist in less than two years, having released two successful albums. He recently closed London, UK’s 02 Arena, which could hold 20,000 people.
Additionally, Tyla is a South African singer-songwriter who was born on January 30, 2002, and goes by Tyla Laura Seethal. reared and born in Johannesburg.
With her 2023 single “Water,” which went on to become a top ten hit in the UK and the first South African soloist song to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years, Tyla shot to international fame.
