IORPENDA, OGUZI CHARLES AND TYUM, SILAS TERUNGWA: THE LIGHT OF COMMERCIAL COLLEGE GBOKO (CCG) AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS, BENUE STATE UNIVERSITY, MAKURDI.Commercial College Gboko (CCG) is located 5km from Gboko town around Makurdi road. This great citadel of learning was founded by Sir Iannah, James Ekegh of blessed memory in far 1970. Since then the school is producing great men and women in the society. Her products are academically sound and morally built. Commercial College Gboko, a commercial, science and arts intensive school, is concern with ensuring that her students get ample knowledge required for the task ahead of them in another phase of education which is the tertiary level. Sequel to the above, two ebullient and sagacious young men, rational thinkers, the Stingler(s), the Adam Smith(s), the Paul Samuelson(s), the David Ricardo(s), the Pigou(s), in fact, the classicals, Iorpenda Charles and Tyum Silas of the classes of 2013 and 2014 respectively shined at the Benue State University’s Department of Economics which is one among the difficult departments of the institution by magnificently coming home with Second Class Honours, Upper Division with hard earned and promising CGPAs of 4.46 for Iorpenda Charles and 4.10 for Tyum Silas qualifying them for the award of B.Sc (Hons) Economics. It is conspicuously suspicious that the department doesn’t award first class taking into consideration the results of Iorpenda Charles (4.46).This day is special for me. This day is worth celebrating as my seat mate and friend, Tyum Silas and my humble Senior Charles Iorpenda shows again that Commercial College Gboko is not a junk. I’m very happy for you guys. Your excellent results are nothing but outcome of well structured background by our Alma Mata and hard work on your parts. I unequivocally join you in the celebration.I take this opportunity to remember our great teachers who are sleeping with their fathers. The like of Sir Shima, Sir Nongu, Sir Jato and others I can’t remember now for their contributions to our backgrounds. May their souls continue to rest in peace. Amen. Latest graduates. Strong men.
